SOLAR POWER WITH STORAGE OPTIONS
What Is a
Hybrid Solar System?
A hybrid solar system combines solar panels, a compatible
inverter, battery storage and, where applicable, a
connection to the electricity grid. Solar energy can
power connected appliances while surplus generation may
be used to charge the battery, depending on the system
configuration and operating settings.
When solar generation is low or electricity demand rises,
the system may draw energy from the battery or the grid
according to its design and settings. With suitable
backup-capable equipment, a hybrid system can also
supply selected loads during a grid outage. The actual
backup capacity depends on battery size, inverter
capability, connected loads and installation design.
